Hi There - The white spots that appear, spontaneously, on any breed are called Birdcatcher Spots, named after a famous British TB from the 1800's. The cause is unknown, crosses all breeds, and has no known genetic link. Google it. It is very interesting. My PP gelding, age 13, started getting them 2 Summers ago. According to the definition, they can come and go, (which mine do. They leave in winter) they can come once, and never appear again, or they can stay. Just get out some Lady Clariol, and touch them up, if they bother you. There are 3 horses in my barn who have them, and they are all different breeds. Checked with my Vet. He was shocked that I knew what it was.
Well, I guess it pays to be a NERD.
Bites on the butt.
