Peruvian on Magazine Cover

A friend just texted me the cover photo of COWGIRL Magazine featuring the beautiful buckskin stallion Leon Gitano BSN.  I am thrilled to see a photo of a Peruvian Horse on something other than our breed's own communiques & print materials.  I would love to see Peruvian photos in all-breed horse calendars and magazines.  My husband and I used to give AAEP (American Association of Equine Practitioners) to his clients each year, and I often wondered how one would go about getting a Peruvian…

Im glad to hear about Dominga. As a filly, she was as strong as her mother Alegria whom I bred way back in Peru.

My Peruvian story goes like this. One of my friends loved old movies we watched The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. At the end of the show a man rides off on a beautiful horses. It is a fleeting scene I don't remeber the actor but I do remember the horse. After that I started trying to find out what kind of horse it was.

I researched horses and found the Peruvian horse, Although I had horses my entire life I had never seen a Peruvian Paso I new I wanted to own one. So I started looking. I found SH Refianado and La Poderosa L. Although I was very poor at the time I scrapped all my money together and bought La poderosa L with my sister she was bred and from there I bought Vivo and bred them together eventually and that is where I got the rest of my Peruvian's. I was dirt poor when I bought these horses but I had to own them. It was a mission of love.
