I'm a certified Master Farrier with 26 years of experience. I specialize in Peruvian Horses and thoroughbreds. I gave several seminars in Peru, USA and Honduras. My goal is to teach Farriers, Vets ,trainers and owners the difference in trimming a Peruvian vs. other breeds and how to keep them sound.

Hola Coco, soy criador de caballos en Arequipa Perú, y creo muy importante el cuidado de los cascos del caballo desde muy pequeños, en ese sentido rogaria me absuelvas por favor algunas consultas, desde que edad crees que de deba empezar a casquear a un caballo, siempre he odio decir que hay que rebajar mas los talones en los posteriores y ello con el fin de mejorar la función (meter mas los posteriores), por otro lado tengo una yegua de tres años que desgasta mas la parte interna del casco, es necesario que use herrajes para corregir ello o solo bastaria que se le casquee y con que frecuencia habria que hacerlo.
De antemano agradezco tu respuesta, quedo a tus ordenes.

It is great to have you on this group. You have helped us so much with understanding the Peruvian feet and how to trim them properly. As Michele just said you are a wealth of information.

Sorry you didn't make it up to the OR State Fair this year. Raul del Solar was the judge. Everyone had a wonderful time. Lots of riders. Rich and Mary were also at the show. As a matter of fact they are still at the show.
