"Hall of Fame" Feature Now at

As many of you know, we have long promoted the idea of a NAPHA Hall of Fame to recognize those many people in North America who have contributed so much, in so many different ways, to the development and promotion of our wonderful breed. Unfortunately, as of this time, there has been no movement by NAPHA in that direction.

Because of this we have started our own "unofficial" Hall of Fame in our own attempt to bring a small amount of recognition to those so deserving. Check it out at… Continue

I need advice on buying a Peruvian!!

I have sold my gelding with way "too much go." I feel I need someone to help me pick out a horse so I don't buy the wrong one again. It breaks my heart to have to sell a horse. I want to make a decision I can stick with. Is there anyone out there with advice?

My New Peruvian is Home !

Yesterday, my new Peruvian was delivered ! He is one of the late

Connie Ribo's four remaining horses, BR Picaro, a 12 y.o. HNS Domingo

"Hairy" as he's being called for the short term until I can figure

out a good call name, is a sweetheart and a gentleman. A bay roan

with four socks, a huge mane and forelock, and a great temperament.

We don't know much about his trail experience but we do know that he

was shown in Texas up until 2000.… Continue

Hi, everyone! Greetings from Santa Ynez on a cold February night. I discovered a resource that can be used by anyone to promote or share photos.

Have you heard of They do computer generated slide shows to music. Great for book videos, showing off vacations, anything. They're free for under 30 seconds, $30 a year for an unlimited number of longer ones. Here are two examples, for my books:

Advancement of the Peruvian Horse Using The Power of Communication

How can we advance the Peruvian Horse using the power of communication? What do I mean by advancement? And how can communication play a role?

When I mention advancement, it can take many forms, such as improvements in breeding, increasing breed awareness as well as a better information flow related to breed education.

Venues of… Continue

Great Day

I posted a picture of a cute little gray Peruvian Paso Mare in my pics. That cute little mare used to live around the corner from me 11 years ago. She was my introduction to the Peruvian Paso breed, even if it was, only at a distance. When I first saw Nadia, and her wonderfully fancy footfall, I was mezmerized, by her gracefullness and her beauty. Years have passed since then. I moved away from that wonderful little town of Bronte TX, and my husband and I relocated to Abilene TX. When we moved… Continue

The "smell" of a sweaty horse....

I just finished an evening of cleaning pens and feeding our horses. and felt the urge to ride our black stallion, Maximus (yes, he was named after Russell Crow in the Gladiator movie!). I haven't ridden him in over a month, with the shorter days, long working hours, and rainy weekend weather. He was absolutely perfect...other than a little running when I lunged him at first in the round pen...he stood perfectly still for mounting and was a perfect gentleman...gaiting, walking, stopping,… Continue

Tribute to wonderful horses who have touched our lives.

It is with great sadness and heaviness in my heart that I write this. Today, I had to put down my beloved mare, Madura. She had Cushing’s, metablolic syndrome, insulin resistance along with severe laminitis issues. Despite lots of treatment, she was having more bad days than good. She was 17 years old.

She was the first Peruvian that I owned. Almost 12 years ago I purchased her after riding and owning stock type horses for 20 years. She was a dream come true. She was so willing and… Continue

Hi All - Just a note to let you know that the photos from the National Show are now on line for viewing/purchasing. We ask that you do NOT order on line, though. They charge us extra to take your order plus we do not see payment for up to six weeks! Rather, take note of the image number and give us a call with your order.

Please pass this on. We are considering this a test. We have done it before, but very unsuccessfully.
