I am very pleased to be writing this very first blog in the PeruvianHorseWorld.com community. This marks a new way for Peruvian Horse admirers from all around the world to come together in one place to exchange information, ideas, and share our knowledge and experiences about our wonderful horse.

I hope that you share in my enthusiasm and will be an activist in the promotion of the Peruvian Horse. With owners and breeders spread across many countries, this online community will make it possible for the miles between us to disappear.

Much work needs and can be done to promote our horses and share their wonderful attributes with others who may not even know such a smooth riding horse as ours exists. Again, this online community can serve as a vehicle to market and promote our horses in a positive way.

By eliminating the geographical distance, an experience breeder can give sage advice to a newcomer to our breed, to discuss health issues, breeding decisions, share bloodline knowledge...and I can go on and on.

I look forward to being a part of this and watching as many new relationships develop as a result of this community. It is my sincere wish to attract many new owners and aficionados!

Pam, I am very sure they would, the selection and care of the broodmare from breeding to foaling is an important topic, and I am sure everyone would find this information valuable. Every member has the ability to create their own "group"...you should create a group based on this topic...and I'll be the first one to join...with questions ready! Thank you for your willingness to share your knowledge, it is exactly what our breed needs more of! Laura

Hi Laura! I love the 'Ask a.......' part of this site.....I love to continually get knew information and knowledge. We can always learn something new. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in information about the broodmare and how to properly breed her, care for her gestation, and the foaling process itself. Over 40 years I have made the boodmare and her care my field of interest, and have much to share if people would like that sort of thing. Maybe something like "ask about the boodmare and her care?" or some such...what do you think?

David's comments on "Ask the Trainer" were very helpful.....I have known horses that have one gear.....FAST....once you ask them to consistantly walk over time, they settle in & seem to enjoy a quiet trail ride. Can't wait until more expert advise comes across as people share their experiences. We should always be open to learning & sharing our experiences as well.

Hi Cindy-
You have an excellent idea! That is one of our goals, education and information exchange. I think that an "ask the expert" is a wonderful idea that will help owners with their horses. Please keep the ideas and suggestions coming. We want to be a useful resource and tool for owners as well as people contemplating ownership, and your contributions and suggestions will help us achieve that. Best, Laura

Hi Laura,
As I visited the members site, I realized that there are some very knowledgable people, excellent trainers, & veterinarians that would be considered experts in thier fields. Would it be possible to start a discussion or educational areas on pertinent subjects that would help
Peruvian Horse owners to better care for thier horses?
Some areas I would be interested in seeing is on, nutrition, hoof care, training advise for problem areas or how to get the best out of your horse, how to better collect your horse....show advise....etc..... Maybe a, "ask the vet" or "ask the farrier" kind of discussions. Just a thought.

I'd love to know who started/owns this blog. Can we have your name, please?
