I’m pleased to announce the addition of a new stallion to our breeding program: *AV Silverio.

It’s more like the return of an old friend. In 2004, I went to Peru with Merlene Sutalo, who was looking for a stallion for her husband Frank. Merlene wanted a big horse with excellent gait and lots of brio. Friends told us we should head north to see AV Silverio (AEV Sol Real x AV Luminaria), that he was the best stallion in the country.

Merlene and I both were taken by his presence, gait, beauty and brio. Even though she feared Frank would declare him too small, Merlene bought him. He was 7 years old at the time, but because he’d been used primarily for breeding, he needed some finishing touches on his training. So *AV Silverio came to our ranch in order for Roberto to work with him, and we were able to breed several mares to him.

Since then, he has done wonderfully in the show ring. His wins include numerous championships and champion of championships in gait and breeding under various judges from across the country and Peru.

I’m also thrilled with his progeny here at La Estanca Alegre. We had five wonderful horses by *AV Silverio, (LEA Glorioso, LEA Santa Fe, LEA Sevilla, LEA Sor Juana, and LEA Valencia); we have sold three of them and are keeping the remaining two. We look forward to crossing him with our *LB Tesoro babies in the future.
